Akiko Grace
The music of Japanese Jazz Master Akiko Grace comprises a powerful blend of sophistication and raw jazz.

Akiko's interpretations of originals and standards harkens back to the early days of Coltrane and Miles, when musical boundaries were stretched with abandon.  But better yet, Akiko firmly stands on the edge of a new, fascinating world of jazz, known as "Wa Jazz", a place where Zen meets Coltrane. Akiko is blending and fusing Jazz with classical and modern Japanese tunes and the results are pure, sincere, and innovative.
Akiko Grace is the Savoy Labels first Japanese Artist. Her debut album, 'From New York' backed by bassist Ron Carter and drummer Bill Stewart displays Akiko's deft touch, driving forcefulness and remarkably crystalline piano melodies. It won a sweeping victory over all major jazz and music awards in Japan.
