Dennis and David Kamakahi
The Reverend Dennis Kamakahi is one of Hawaii's most popular and prolific songwriters. His warm, evocative singing and prolific songwriting testify to his firm commitment to the ki ho'alu (slack key) tradition. Throughout the 1970's and 80's Dennis was a member of the legendary band "Sons of Hawaii". He joined in 1977 as a replacement for Gabby Pahinui. The Sons helped Dennis develop and perfect his ample songwriting skills and many Kamakahi originals became instant classics.

Performing as a solo artist, and with his son, David, Dennis's shows are prized for their intimacy and power. His music resonates with respect for and celebration of the traditions of his beloved Hawaii.
